Richard has over 30 years experience as a corporate lawyer in the City and then the South West advising businesses and charities on their corporate and commercial legal affairs, especially focusing on strategic change, governance, mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his retirement he was a corporate partner at Foot Anstey Solicitors, and still acts as a consultant to them.

He is now chairman of South West Investment Group, which provides funding to businesses across the region, and is also a non-executive director and trustee of a number of other companies and charities.
